Short–wave ultraviolet irradiation (KUF) is a method of using safe short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation for therapeutic and preventive purposes. The procedure is performed in the patient's sitting position. The duration of the procedure is 1-4min. Therapy helps to destroy the structure of harmful microorganisms inside the patient's body, stabilizes the work of nucleic acids and proteins.
The procedure is effective in the treatment of acute and subacute inflammatory diseases of the skin, nasopharynx (nasal mucosa, tonsils), inner ear, wounds with the risk of joining anaerobic infection.
Therapy is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity of the skin and mucous membranes to ultraviolet radiation.
