Transcranial electrical stimulation (TES therapy) is one of the physiotherapeutic methods of treatment. Therapy is performed in the patient's lying position on the couch. The duration is 20-40 minutes, the course consists of 6-12 procedures. TES therapy has a powerful analgesic effect, increases the overall efficiency of the body, and normalizes blood pressure.
The procedure is effective in relieving acute, subacute and chronic pain syndromes; stressful conditions, depression, anxiety, decreased performance, chronic fatigue syndrome; hypertension I-II art., hypotension, neurocirculatory dystonia; sensorineural hearing loss; traumatic and postoperative wounds, burns and ulcers; diffuse itchy dermatoses, neurodermatitis, eczema, seborrhea; stimulation of the immune system in immunodeficiency; primary osteoarthritis; alcohol withdrawal syndrome, alcoholic affective disorders, pathological attraction to alcohol; opium addiction; toxicosis of the first half of pregnancy; menopausal neuroses; allergic conditions.
Therapy is contraindicated in convulsive states, epilepsy; injuries and brain tumors, infectious lesions of the central nervous system; hypertension stage III, hypertensive crisis; hydrocephalus; acute mental disorders; thyrotoxicosis; atrial fibrillation; skin lesions in the places of application of electrodes; the presence of implanted electrical stimulators. It is also contraindicated for children under five years of age.
