"Staraya Russa has opened a new page in its history, because this year it received the highly deserved status of the capital of the "Silver Necklace of Russia".
The Staraya Russa resort was included in the tourist route of the Silver Necklace of Russia holiday program and conducted a costumed tour of the resort for the guests of the project and presented a musical program with performances by folk groups.
The guests of the holiday were residents of Staraya Russa and the district, representatives of the tourism industry of the cities of the Silver Necklace, members of the Northwest Media Association.
The status and symbol of the capital of the Silver Necklace of Russia project in 2024 was transferred to the city of Staraya Russa from Solvychegodsk, Arkhangelsk Region, during a solemn ceremony within the framework of the Russia exhibition at VDNH. Staraya Russa will pass the baton to the new capital in 2025.
