On March 25, the most massive environmental action on the planet Earth Hour took place.
The Staraya Russa resort is a participant of the action and on this day, at 20.30, electrical appliances were partially turned off for 1 hour.
The purpose of the campaign is to draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to the nature and resources of the planet. Every year, all participating countries raise one of the topical environmental issues.
The symbolic culmination of the campaign is the Earth Hour itself:
— millions of people from 180 countries turn off lights and electrical appliances for 1 hour;
— thousands of architectural monuments of the world extinguish their illumination, such as the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, the Eiffel Tower, the Gate of India, Big Ben, the Colosseum, the Beijing Phoenix Center and others.
